The planning area for the proposed project encompasses the existing Sphere of Influence (SOI) for the City of Lakeport (City) as well as a proposed extended (SOI) of approximately 800 acres on the south border. The City of Lakeport is located in Lake County, California. Lakeport is the County Seat and is the regional center of commerce and governmental activity in the county. In addition, the land-use designation for certain areas within the city limits would be amended to allow a broader mix of uses than currently allowed. With the implementation of the proposed General Plan, buildout of the Specific Plan area would result in a variety of potential uses including: increased residential development, commercial development, and open space.
