KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Clear Lake State Park Volunteer Brad Barnwell will lead a nature walk on Saturday, Dec. 3, starting at the Visitor Center parking lot at 9 a.m.

Hikers report that there is a lot of activity at the park right now.

On a recent morning hike, Gil Bean of Lakeport captured photos of four river otters feasting on fish.

“The park was also full of sounds of bird activity; Canada geese flying overhead, the swish of wings as herons and egrets flushed from Cole Creek, acorn and pileated woodpeckers hammering on tree branches. It was a photographer’s paradise,” he said.

Clear Lake State Park is located at 5300 Soda Bay Road in Kelseyville.

There is no entrance fee for those joining the nature walk.
