Church of Shambhala: Use permit to establish a church/retreat

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the County of Lake, State of California, will hold a public hearing on application UP 08-10 proposing a Use Permit to establish a church/retreat to be used as a monastic residence by up to sixteen monks and nuns. Other activities would include daily visitors for private meditation services, transient guests for meditation retreat services, occasional group meditations for up to twenty guests and quarterly group teaching weekends for up to forty guests. The project is located at 9977 Bottle Rock Road, Kelseyville, APN 011-004-09. The project applicant is Church of Shambhala (Kathy Ord).  The Planning Commission will consider adoption of a Mitigated Negative Declaration for this project based on Initial Study IS 08-34. The public hearing will be held in the Board of Supervisors’ Chamber in the Courthouse on January 28, 2010 at 10:25 a.m., at which time and place interested persons may attend and be heard.  If you challenge the action of the Planning Commission on any of the above stated items in court, it may be limited to only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Lake County Planning Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the County of Lake, State of California, will hold a public hearing on the appeal AA 09-04, of Veronica Fisher, on behalf of El Dorado Motel. The appellant is appealing a Notice of Violation issued September 9, 2009, in conjunction with Case #RC30, for the conversion of a motel to a combination permanent living establishment along with transient occupancy facilities. The location of the alleged zoning violations is 3955 Lakeshore Blvd., Lakeport, APN 029-231-78.
