South Lake County Fire Sirens to hold Nov. 20 boutique, seek vendors

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The South Lake County Fire Sirens are seeking crafts people and vendors for the group's 24th annual holiday boutique to be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Tables are available at $15 each.


The Boutique is to be held indoors at the Middletown Fire Station on Highway 175.


The Fire Sirens is a volunteer organization which raises money for emergency equipment for the South Lake County Fire Protection District.


The group invites the community to join in for a fun-filled day on Nov. 20.

Animal Care and Control plans vaccination clinic Aug. 22

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Lake County Animal Care and Control will host its summer vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Aug. 22.


The clinic will be held at the animal shelter, 4949 Helbush Drive, Lakeport.


Dr. Jeff Smith of Middletown Animal Hospital will host the clinic.


All rabies vaccines for dogs and cats will be $6. Other vaccines such as DHLPP, kennel cough, FVRCP, and Felv, will be offered as well.


All sales are cash only and please make sure to have your pet on a leash or in an appropriate carrier.


All rabies vaccines will be good for one year, unless a prior vaccination history can be provided.

New venue for Oct. 9 Lake County Land Trust annual dinner set

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Moore Family Winery is the venue for the Lake County Land Trust annual dinner Friday, Oct. 9, at 11990 Bottle Road, Kelseyville.


The fundraising event also begins one hour earlier, at 5 p.m.


The public is invited to join the Land Trust board and volunteers to participate in the event which includes a special guest speaker and announcement of supporters of the year.


Tickets are $60 per person for dinner by Lakeport’s Ciao Thyme Catering, Lake County wines, live music, and silent auction.


Proceeds from the dinner support the Land Trust’s efforts to preserve the beautiful places of Lake County, as well as operate the Rodman Slough Preserve and Nature Education Center on Clear Lake’s north shore.

Lakeport Planning Commission meets Monday

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Planning Commission will meet on Monday, Aug. 16.


The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.


The commission will hold a public hearing and consideration of an application to develop a 48-unit senior apartment complex at 1075 Martin St., proposed by Pacific West Communities.


The next meeting will take place Sept. 8.
