Lake County Land Trust Annual Dinner to be held at Rancho de la Fuente Oct. 8

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The popular annual benefit dinner and silent auction for the Lake County Land Trust will be held this year on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Rancho de la Fuente, 2290 Soda Bay Road, Lakeport.


The event is an important fundraiser for the Land Trust and includes a silent auction with fabulous items for bidding.


Tickets are $60 per person and include appetizers, dinner and wine.


The public is cordially invited. The popular duo of Doug Kauffman and Tom Nixon will entertain during social hour, which starts at 5 p.m.


Dinner is at 6 p.m. followed by guest speaker, Greg Giusti with the UC Cooperative Extension, who is an Oak Woodlands expert.


Also part of the program is the presentation of the annual Lake County Land Trust Supporter of the Year award.

The Lake County Land Trust is a private, nonprofit corporation whose mission is to protect and preserve Lake County’s valuable natural habitats. The trust owns and operates the Rodman Preserve and is active in several current conservation efforts.

REGIONAL: Poker run and bike show benefits Christmas program

UKIAH, Calif. – Mendocino County Harley Owners Group presents its 14th annual Poker Run and Bike Show on Saturday, Sept. 10, in Ukiah.


Poker Run registration is 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Harley-Davidson of Ukiah, 2600 N. State St.


The cost is $20 per person, which includes the poker run run pin and tri-tip dinner. The bike show is $10 per entry. Dinner only costs $10 per person.


The Poker Run Party and Bike Show is located at the Elks Lodge, 1200 Hastings Ave., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take Talmage exit east turn right at Hastings Avenue then right again at Elks Way.


Ray & the Reveleers will provide live rock and roll music. There also will be raffle prizes.


All motorcycles are welcome. Families also are welcome at the event, which is a benefit for the Willits Toy Run and Children’s Christmas Program, and is cosponsored by the Rotary Club of Willits.

UKIAH, Calif. – Redwood Children’s Services (RCS), which serves foster children in Lake, Mendocino, Sonoma, Contra Costa and Napa counties, will hold its inaugural Lake County “Helping Hands ~Loving Hearts” Summer Soiree fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 17.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the J Bar S Ranch in Ukiah.

Join them for an evening of music, dancing under the stars on beautiful Lawson’s Lake, a bountiful appetizer and dessert buffet, and bid on silent auction items.

Event tickets are $30 per person.

RCS is a nonprofit organization that provides quality therapeutic services to children and families. Their Foster Family Agency has now given assistance to over 4000 children.

They continue to provide Specialty Mental Health Services, Foster Homes, Transitional Housing and Residential Care.

All proceeds will support RCS foster children and youth who are in need of placement in foster homes.
