“Time Flies!” That's the official theme for Carlé High School's prom and we are a lot closer now due to the approximately $700 earned in key chain donations.
Angie's advisory, led by Ray Raylon, sold the most. Principal Ed Zander will treat them to a pizza party for their effort.
We would also like to thank the local Soroptimist club for donating $200 to our prom. We are so proud of our wonderful relationship with this special community service organization.
Official key chain sales ended last Friday but you didn't lose your chance to get one. You can still make donations to Barbara Dye in the office and she has a basket full of them.
Carlé's Student of the Week last week was Jorge Vieira, an excellent student who helps lead paintball and is a big part of student council.
“With activities he always participates to the fullest,” said teacher Verna Rogers.
Student of the Week this week was Brandon Haggard, who also is a wonderful addition to student council.
“He is a great natural leader who really has his heart in the right place, and always does the right thing,” said teacher Alan Siegel.
Portfolios on Mar 24 were Kayellia Lansdowne and Dylan Sheldon. Congratulations, graduating seniors!
Paint ball will be held on the first of April. Students will be able to begin their month of April with a little friendly competition, but this won't be like the other times. This time Superintendent Bill MacDougall will be joining us along with Principal Ed Zander.
Students who have signed up so far are Jorge Vieira, Stevie Cook, Karalena Cole, Lucas Powell, Raylon Ray, Brandon Haggard, Kayellia Lansdowne, John Warren, Austin Weldon, Sam Farnan, Steven Fogg, Colten Robone, Dallas Schell, Sabre Bruffy, Levi Floyd and Emily Thompson.
As always, over the last few years we would like to thank Michael and Star Skidmore for continuously bringing this opportunity to the students.
In this week's article and in every week we are so happy to talk about the humongous amount of kindness shown to this school by community members. It is what helps us be such a special place and we cannot thank you all enough.
Another community service for our students is just around the corner. The art and science camp is making its way to Anderson Marsh on April 16. Students who are interested will be meeting with Carolyn Jarrett soon to discuss what they can do to help. Additional information will be included in next week's column.

During the last article about the staff-student luncheon on Monday, Feb. 28, we failed to mention that student Arwen King was also an invitee. Not only was Arwen invited but she also took on a major role of planning, cooking and cleaning this event.
Friday spirit days have come to an end concluding with a classic “Gender Bender Day” that took place on March 11.
The day was filled with activities – followed with hysterical laughter! Humor with a twist emerged from three games, starting with a face make-up contest. Jonathan Truax won the first event.
The next activity to transpire was the costume contest. In first place was Tonya Smith and Trevor Wilsey.
The third competition took us back to a time when playing dress up was an everyday event. Whether dressing up like a cowboy or trying to resemble our mother's, it is a memory many hold dear to their hearts.
In this race boys and girls ran to a bag full of clothing, put it all on and ran back in the quickest time. In the lead were Justin Boyce and Saber Bruffy. Maes' advisory ended up winning the spirit days and had a stunning plaque designed by Kayellia Lansdowne that will be on display with all the advisory names on it for many years to come.
These spirits days concluded the fourth grading period bringing us officially into the fifth grading period.
Gold level students from the fourth grading period were: Desriee Bauer, Leticia Bowman, Matt Brown, Shannika Chandler, Karalena Cole, Stevie Cook, Nia Edmunds, Aaron Mearns, Arturo Negrete, Raylon Ray, Tyler Stirling and Jorge Viera. Congratulations and good job on all of your hard work!
Portfolios on the St. Patty's Day on March 17 was Ellie Hackler and Christine McQuown. These seniors didn't need luck though as they both did a wonderful job presenting their senior projects. Congratulations, graduating seniors!
Speaking of some very special students, Levi Floyd designed posters for all the teachers and staff of Carlé.
Taking on a James Bond role, Levi Floyd investigated on his own to really get to know the teachers at Carlé High School. He figured out of the teachers' and staffs' likes and loves and created very wonderful artist posters. “Floyd, Levi Floyd” is a very exceptional student who did this to show his appreciation and love for Carlé.
Another spectacular student, Kayellia Lansdowne also did some investigating to help her design a very beautiful plaque for our state certified counselor Bobby O¹Brien. We wanted to show our appreciation for everything that she does for our students and Kayellia artistically captured it while using Bobby¹s favorite quote, “Nothing and no one can take my peace.”
“She has been a very special addition at Carlé for the past two years providing varies support models for all of our at risk students,” said Principal Ed Zander.
