“Time Flies!” That's the official theme for Carlé High School's prom and we are a lot closer now due to the approximately $700 earned in key chain donations.

Angie's advisory, led by Ray Raylon, sold the most. Principal Ed Zander will treat them to a pizza party for their effort.

We would also like to thank the local Soroptimist club for donating $200 to our prom. We are so proud of our wonderful relationship with this special community service organization.

Official key chain sales ended last Friday but you didn't lose your chance to get one. You can still make donations to Barbara Dye in the office and she has a basket full of them.

Carlé's Student of the Week last week was Jorge Vieira, an excellent student who helps lead paintball and is a big part of student council.

“With activities he always participates to the fullest,” said teacher Verna Rogers.

Student of the Week this week was Brandon Haggard, who also is a wonderful addition to student council.

“He is a great natural leader who really has his heart in the right place, and always does the right thing,” said teacher Alan Siegel.

Portfolios on Mar 24 were Kayellia Lansdowne and Dylan Sheldon. Congratulations, graduating seniors!

Paint ball will be held on the first of April. Students will be able to begin their month of April with a little friendly competition, but this won't be like the other times. This time Superintendent Bill MacDougall will be joining us along with Principal Ed Zander.

Students who have signed up so far are Jorge Vieira, Stevie Cook, Karalena Cole, Lucas Powell, Raylon Ray, Brandon Haggard, Kayellia Lansdowne, John Warren, Austin Weldon, Sam Farnan, Steven Fogg, Colten Robone, Dallas Schell, Sabre Bruffy, Levi Floyd and Emily Thompson.

As always, over the last few years we would like to thank Michael and Star Skidmore for continuously bringing this opportunity to the students.

In this week's article and in every week we are so happy to talk about the humongous amount of kindness shown to this school by community members. It is what helps us be such a special place and we cannot thank you all enough.

Another community service for our students is just around the corner. The art and science camp is making its way to Anderson Marsh on April 16. Students who are interested will be meeting with Carolyn Jarrett soon to discuss what they can do to help. Additional information will be included in next week's column.

Karalena Cole is a student at Carlé Continuation High School in Lower Lake, Calif.
