LAKEPORT, Calif. – The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 88 of Lake County will meet on Saturday, April 2.


The group will meet at the Lakeport Yacht Club building, located at the Fifth Street boat launching ramp in Lakeport.


The two-hour meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m.


Included on the agenda will be confirmation of the dates for boating safety classes, vessel exams and other activities during National Safe Boating Week, which is May 21 through May 27.


Flotilla 88 is actively seeking new members and encourages anyone wishing to learn more about the flotilla to attend the meeting.

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The South Lake County Fire Sirens' House of Bargains, located next door to the Middletown Fire Station on Highway 175, helps raise funds for the South Lake County Fire Protection District.


The thrift shop is open every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Their next Saturday sale and bake sale will be held on April 2.


The House of Bargains has all kinds of clean and in working order items for sale which are reasonably priced.


Please drop by, say hi and check out the merchandise.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – “Earth Wise” on KPFZ 88.1 FM will host guests from www.211california.org during the show on Friday, March 18.


The show will air from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.


The guests will discuss what California 2-1-1 is – a network for connecting people to resources and services – and why it is important for all California counties to have this service.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The regular meeting of the Green Party of Lake County will be at the Clear Lake Riviera Community Association building at 9689 Soda Bay Road in Kelseyville on Sunday, March 20.


The meeting will begin at 1 p.m.


The county's 350 Green Party members are invited to attend the group's regular meetings.


Coffee will be served. Bring cookies if you wish. The meeting room is cold so dress warmly.

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The South Lake County Fire Sirens is an auxiliary of the South Lake County Fire Protection District, and is welcoming those who would like to join the group.


Members meet on the first Monday of each month – except when it falls on a holiday – in the board room at the Middletown Fire Station on Highway 175.


They meet at 9:30 a.m. for coffee/refreshments with the business meeting beginning at 10 a.m. They usually have a guest speaker prior to the business meeting.


The speaker for the next meeting on Monday, April 4, will be Fire Chief Jim Wright and other representatives of the South Lake County Fire Protection District.


They will be speaking on how the district was formed, its projects, programs and challenges being faced.


The Fire Sirens welcomes community members at their meetings.


The group's goal is to raise money to purchase life saving equipment for the fire district.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – In response to the growing need to address hunger in Lake County, the Democratic Party of Lake County has developed “The Hunger Project.”


As part of the project, party members are encouraged to bring canned or packaged food to each of the group's three monthly meetings.


The food they collect will be donated to the Community Care HIV/AIDS Program and Catholic Charities each month.


The three Democratic Groups and the meeting times, dates and places are as follows.


The Lake County Democratic Central Committee meets the first Thursday of each month and rotates meeting places between Clearlake Oaks and Lakeport.

 

The April meeting will take place on Thursday, April 7, at 7 p.m., at the Clearlake Oaks United Methodist Church, 12487 The Plaza. The May meeting will be held in Lakeport at Lake County Tax Services, 1210 S. Main St.


The Stonewall Democratic Club meets the fourth Monday each month at Clearlake Oaks United Church, 12487 The Plaza.


The meeting begins with a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m. The next meeting will take place on Monday, March 28.


The Lake County Democratic Club meets the second Saturday at noon at the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center on Country Club Drive in Lucerne and begins at noon.


The next meeting will take place at noon on Saturday, March 12. The senior center serves breakfast on Saturday mornings.


All meetings are open to the public and committee membership is open to all registered Democrats.
