LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Weather permitting, the Lake County Genealogical Society will present a free tour of the Glenbrook Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m.
Check the website for updates as late as Friday evening.
Also known as Cobb Mountain Cemetery, Hoberg-Mills Cemetery, the Glenbrook Cemetery is located at 12969 Bottle Rock Road, Kelseyville.
Caravaning from the Genealogy Library at 885 Lakeport Blvd. in Lakeport and the Kelseyville Live Oak Park & Ride, departure times will be posted on the website: lcgs-ca.org.
The tour will begin at approx. 10 a.m., starting at the picnic area surrounded by a white picket fence.
Join them for this walk through the historic Cobb cemetery. Past cemetery tours have included grave dowsing, and we expect to have the opportunity to experience this phenomenon once again.
They will be walking in the mid-morning, under shade trees and learning about the lives of some of those buried there.
Be prepared for uneven ground. Bring an umbrella, just in case. Please leave your dogs at home.
This event will be rescheduled if raining heavily, to the following Saturday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m.
Lake County Genealogical Society maintains a Genealogy Library of local families, along with other historic documents and is seeking a permanent home in Lakeport so the public can access the collection. Your donation to the building fund will be doubled through the end of the year.
Check the website for the most current updates.
