LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Terry Hix, age 65, went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2015 at U.C. Davis Medical Center. Terry fought cancer for 7 years.

She enjoyed working for 19 years at Lakeport Unified School District teaching various grades, but fourth grade was her favorite. She loved each and every child she taught.

Terry is preceded in death by her grandparents, Windell and Ruby Mabry; parents, Bill and Helen Dennis; and brother Wayne Dennis.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Hix; daughter, Tammy Hix; son, Franklin (Lea) Hix; grandchildren, Alicia Davis and Brandon VanOstrand; her beloved babies, T n T; sisters, Sara (Michael) Russell, Bobbie (Pete) Gaona; brothers, Bill (Carol) Dennis, Hank (Teresa) Dennis; aunts, Evelyn Landry, Barbara Chenoweth, and Pat York; uncles, Wayne (Margaret) Mabry and Robert (Barbara) Mabry; nieces, Sherry, Allison, Renae, Leslie and LeAnn; nephew, Jeremy; numerous great nieces and nephews; and many cousins who loved her dearly.

A time to share memories of Terry, our love for her and how she touched our lives, will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St. in Lakeport on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Adrian Toni Jacobo, age 50, entered into rest at home in Clearlake on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015.

Born in San Francisco, Calif., and formerly of Sacramento, Adrian had resided in Lake County for 22 years. She was employed as a substance abuse counselor for five years.

Adrian is survived by her sons, Anthony Meranda and Vincent Jones, daughter, Brittany Robinson and son-in-law, Ventay Robinson, all of Clearlake; brothers, Bernard Gilliam of St. Louis, Missouri, Paul Gilliam of San Francisco, and Gino Meranda of St. Louis; sisters, Dona Pagan of Ozone Park, New York, and Vivian Meranda of Clearlake; and granddaughter, Sophia Meranda of Clearlake. 

Adrian  is preceded in death by her parents, Georgette and George Meranda, and her sister, Georgana Watson.

Friends and family are warmly invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, Oct. 23, at the First Assembly of God in Clearlake beginning at noon, with Pastor Chris Massingill officiating.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Claudia Hergert, age 62, passed away surrounded with love and memories from all whom she had known on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015.

She worked for many years in the Lakeport Unified School District as an aide for students with special needs. Claudia absolutely loved her work and dedicated herself to the children she worked with. She touched the lives of many special needs children and they too touched hers.

Claudia is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Rick and Bobby Hamlin; husband, Donald Hergert; and brother-in-law, Ken Radovich.

Claudia is survived by her two daughters, Michelle Hergert (Jubalee), and Stephanie (Rich) Wayment; grandchildren, Kassidy-Lee Hergert and Braiden, Tori and Liam Wayment; sisters, Dori Radovich, Roberta (Jobey) Tritchler; many beloved nieces and nephews; and the best of friends a girl could ask for, Suzy Douse, Doris Anderson, Dena Wood and many more.

A time to come together and share how Claudia touched the lives of so many, will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary on Sunday, Oct. 11, from 2 to 3 p.m. This will be a time to share memories, not tears as we, “listen to the music play.”

Bruce Lloyd Yarbrough
Jan. 15, 1956 – Oct. 1, 2015

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Bruce went to be with his Lord and Savior, his father and brothers Oct. 1, 2015.

He was a wonderful, kind, loving son, father, husband, grandfather and friend.

He will be greatly missed, but is still with us in spirit. He is a guardian angel to all that he loved and that loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Yarbrough; mother, Laura Yarbrough; sons, Bradley (Signe) Yarbrough and Brian (Kelly) Yarbrough; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Cecile; stepson, Travis Tripp; stepdaughter, Allison Tripp; sister-in-law, Dee Yarbrough; aunt, Elizabeth Tyler; and many cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Lloyd and brothers, Dennis and Richard.

Rest in peace my sweet angel. Always remembered, never forgotten.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Frank Volpe, loving husband of Josephine Volpe, son of late Romeo and Mary Volpe, entered into heaven Oct. 5, 2015, surrounded by his loved ones.

Frank was born April 13, 1933 in Manhattan, NY.  He grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where he met the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Josephine Macagnone.

Frank, a veteran of the US Navy, served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine; his children, Valerie (Harold) LaBonte, Michael (Kim) Volpe, Frank Jr. (Paula) Volpe; son-in-law, Harold Binsfeld; grandchildren, Shanon and Roberta, Paula and Johnny, Michelle, Paul, Ana and Monica; great-grandchildren, Brieana, Noah, Tyler, Jacob and Sophia.

Frank has a very large family back in New York, sister-in-law, Annette who was also at his bedside at the time of his death, her husband, Bill, Diane and Robert, Alicia and Jim, Andrea, Robert and Wendy, Melissa and Chris, and lots of cousins.  He also has a large number of family members in the Bay Area.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Binsfeld.

Frank was a general contractor in the Bay Area where he built many homes and when he relocated to Lake County he continued to build. After retirement he enjoyed spending time on the lake with his loving family and friends.

He will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport. Interment to follow at Upper Lake Cemetery with military honors.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Angelina Scheuer, 91, of Kelseyville passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2015, in Chandler, Ariz., while being comforted by family.

Born Angelina Romo in San Francisco on March 13, 1924, to Maria Santiago Romo and Fred "Fritz" Oscar Sterner, Angie, as everyone knew and called her, grew up in San Francisco, attended San Francisco City College and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank until the onset of World War II.

An early fan of baseball and the AAA Pacific Coast League, Angie loved Dominic DiMaggio.

Angie is preceded in death by her husband, Leopold Scheuer, and son, Ken Power of Cloverdale, Calif. 

She is survived by children: Margaret Johnson of Chandler, Ariz., Rose Fabela of Canton, Ga., Carmelita Hanson of Gilroy, Calif.; Joseph Power of Cloverdale; Paul Power of Cloverdale, Alyce Garcia of Fort Bragg, Calif., Elizabeth Power of Fort Bragg, Nicholas Power of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Ruth Lincoln of Lakeport, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass to be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Kelseyville with Fr. Phillip Ryan on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 11 a.m.

Donations to the Lake County Passion Play in lieu of flowers in memory of Angelina Scheuer.
