LAKEPORT – The Lake County Arts Council looks forward to welcoming the community to its monthly reception for the artists at the Main Street Gallery's First Friday Fling.

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 2.

Visitors will be introduced to an especially exciting new show featuring seven new artists.

The Main Street Gallery is especially pleased to feature Ginny Craven, the founder and mainstay of Operation Tango Mike, and her photographs of the Moving Wall which we were fortunate to have here in Lakeport. This is a very moving exhibit. March 30 was the official day set aside to recognize our Vietnam veterans, and the gallery is honored to celebrate them at the Gallery during April.

Adding to this exciting show is Linda Reidel with her finely detailed pastel landscapes, while Terry Durnil continues to delight us with his expanded execution of work in pastels.

Patty Oates returns to the gallery showing a fresh dimension to her work in oils, while Chelsey Colette presents beautifully captured photographs of Lake County.

Marilyn Crayton will be displaying artfully crafted gourds that she grows from seed, and Tom McComber returns with his whimsically fashioned metal garden art.

Continuing in the Main Street Gallery is Jacqueline Solgat's photography in floral and underwater images, and Gary Sampson's bright watercolors. Judy Cardinale has a new hanging of abstract figures in watercolor. Joan Facca's special touch in pastel landscapes, and Cathy Gales's wonderfully executed oils round out this outstanding show. To even add more sparkle to this fine show, Stephanie Berro has added new pieces of her finely crafted jewelry.

Once again we welcome Jacquie Farley who brings her talented students to exhibit in the Linda Carpenter Gallery. Look for the unexpected from this dedicated teacher and her talented students from the School of Enlightenment in Ukiah.

We invite you to join us and meet our featured artists while sampling the fine wines of Shannon Ridge poured by the knowledgeable Joey Luiz. We are pleased to add to the evening festivities the lively sounds of the popular entertainers Doug Coffman and Tom Nixon.

The Main Street Gallery and Gift Shop is located at 325 N. Main St. in Lakeport. More information can be obtained by calling 707-263-6658.
