LAKEPORT – It’s now easier than ever to get tickets for upcoming events such as Triskela or the Spring Dance Festival held at the Soper-Reese Theatre.

Tickets for events are now available online – simply go to the Web site www.soperreesetheatre.com to purchase your tickets for any Soper-Reese event.

There have been a lot of exciting changes taking place at the theater. The ambiance has been improved through the paving of the courtyard and the planting of trees. The first-ever dinner and dance was a great success proving that the theater provides a versatile venue.

For the upcoming Spring Dance Festival, the many dancers will perform on a specially constructed dance floor on the stage of the theater.

In addition to online ticket purchases, the theater also has a Facebook page to keep everyone up-to-date on news regarding performances and changes to the facility.

The improvements to the theater and the many accomplishments that have taken place over the past few years have taken place solely because of donations from the community, grants from local entities and the untiring efforts of the volunteers dedicated to providing Lake County with a viable community theater.

Visit our Web site or Facebook page to learn more about what’s happening at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre or to purchase your tickets for upcoming events.

CLEARLAKE – In these times of crisis there are many hugely encouraging signs of responsiveness and responsibility.

Researcher, entrepreneur and author Paul Hawken has found at least one million grassroot groups around the world struggling for positive change that are supported and guided by their spiritual beliefs.

“Fierce Light” is a beautiful, deeply moving documentary that captures this exciting movement of Spiritual Activism exploding around the planet.

This “movement of movements” shares a common set of values: values of compassion, collaboration and understanding, of focusing on what we are for, as opposed to what we are against.

Acclaimed Canadian filmmaker Velcrow Ripper has placed his own life on the line as he seeks out today’s stories of what Martin Luther King called “Love in Action,” what Gandhi called “Soul Force” and what Ripper calls “Fierce Light.”

It is what Ripper calls the way of the Sacred Warrior: uncompromisingly nonviolent, with a power that radiates from the heart into actions that are undeniably hopeful and full of possibility.

“Fierce Light: When Spirit Meets Action” reveals what’s possible when human beings work together for meaningful change when they are at their absolute best.

As the Seattle Times says of this award-winning film, it’s “inspiring! Herein lies the key to humankind’s ultimate survival, and what could possibly be more important.” You don’t want to miss this one!

“Fierce Light” will be screened, for free as always, at The Clearlake United Methodist Church at 14521 Pearl Ave. in Clearlake on April 11.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; the film starts at 6 p.m. We hope to see you there!
