Happy third week of school, Carlé!
This article will discuss some of the goings on around the school.
I interviewed Mr. Wickersham, our new vice principal, on Friday, Aug. 23.
Where did he come from and where did he go to school? He came from Santa Cruz, Calif., and went to school in Berkeley.
He likes the fact that Carlé is small. He likes that our school has more of a family community feeling than a normal high school.
What does he like to do? He likes to play music. He likes rock music. He plays the bass guitar. How old is he? He is 46.
What he thinks would be interesting to the students about himself: He spent a summer working on boats in Alaska. He started a record label. He has traveled the United States with his bands 15 times. He used to skateboard when he was 15. He grew up with a lot of professional skateboarders and surfers.
What kind of sports he likes: He likes the San Francisco Giants, which is a baseball team. His favorite football team is the Oakland Raiders. His favorite basketball team is the Golden State Warriors.
His plans for the future are to work at Carlé High School and to make sure we have the best school in the district. He likes Carlé just as much as Lower Lake High School.
He wants to see students more involved in the community.
Class schedules will be changing this week as the three-week thematic ended on Friday, Aug. 30. Students will receive their progress reports on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Picture day was Aug. 26. Saul Castaneda, the photographer, took all the Carlé students’ and staff’s pictures.
On Aug. 27, Michael and Starr Skidmore visited Carlé to hold a paintball club meeting. Paintball club’s president is Sienna Norton. The first game will be held on a weekend shortly.
Student of the week this week was Lucas Stickel. Lucas will be the first graduate from Carlé this year.
Carlé would like to welcome new student Desteny Cypert!
