CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Advanced students in the Yuba College Culinary Program met with Chef Robert Cabreros recently to plan the menu for the upcoming dinner to raise funds for the Children’s Museum of Art and Science (CMAS).

The menu features local foods obtained from the Lake County Co-op and the Veggie Hut in Lower Lake.

Buffet plates will be presented by the students “tapas style.” Menu items include fresh mozzarella Lake County walnut pesto, wild style pulled pork tacos, soy ginger yakitori, lower lake pickled onions and peppers, Mary’s free range chicken with assorted Lake County grilled vegetables and Cantonese style fried wontons.

An assortment of local Lower Lake melons, fresh fruit kabobs and other desserts will also round out this scrumptious meal.

The dinner will be held at the Aromas Café on the Yuba College campus Saturday, Sept. 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Music, provided by talented local musicians, and a raffle are included in the evening’s entertainment. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and can be obtained at The Travel Center in Lakeport and Marie’s Feed in Clearlake.
