The meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m. at the historic Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake.
The topics covered will include early strategies of the two sides, and how they prepared for the coming conflict, with round table discussion to follow.
Presenters Zane Jensen and Phil Smoley will lead the group in reviewing each sides options and goals, and consider some alternative ideas that were not utilized.
The Redwood Empire Civil War Roundtable was created to allow local history buffs a chance to share and learn about this tragic time in our history 150 years ago.
For the next four years, the entire country will be remembering a variety of Civil War Sesquicentennial events and anniversaries.
Admission is free and all are welcome.

Chamber Chief Executive Officer Melissa Fulton said the group takes great pride in presenting the annual Memorial Day Parade in Lakeport each year.
Although the rain started as the parade began, it did not last long and did not dampen the spirits of
the spectators, judges or parade participants at all. The enthusiasm of everyone made it a great parade, led by every veteran group in Lake County.
Fulton said a couple from Eureka who stopped by as the chamber was tearing down the judges' stand, spoke of their tears of joy as they observed this, in their words, “wonderful small town parade.” They could not say enough about the thrill they had as the parade went by. Others stopped by, repeating the
words, “best parade ever.”
A parade does not just “happen,” as evidenced by the many entities involved in bringing it to the community, Fulton said.
The major sponsor for 2011 was WestAmerica Bank, with Mendo Mill and Piedmont Rock Yard supplying the judges' stage.
For the 21st year in a row, Ginny Clinton was the lineup chair, joined by husband Barry Clinton and son Dan Comacho. Also volunteering for lineup duties were Dianna Hendrick, Melissa Williams, Mary Amodio and Dan LaBelle. Chamber member Debbie Bielenberg stopped by and assisted with decorating the judges' stage.
The City of Lakeport Public Works Department and Lakeport Police Department took charge of barricades and street closures. Without the use of the Lake County Fairgrounds for line up areas, not sure how this parade could come about. Additional thanks to Shari's Secret Garden for their courtesies.
Announcing again this year, courtesy of Mendo Mill & Lumber, was Paul Reading who makes the parade even more special with his presentation of the script. Reading also added a great deal prior to the start of the parade by sharing the history of Memorial Day.
Judges this year were Lakeport City Manager Margaret Silveira; Ted Mandrones, Mendo Mill & Lumber manager and longtime chamber volunteer; and John Fulton. Sally Mandrones helped tally results for the judges.
Ted and Sally Mandrones were able to assist with dismantling the decorations following the end of the parade. Ted Mandrones also assisted John Fulton with loading up the heavy stairs used for access to the stage, into a trailer.

The pool is located at 20962 Big Canyon Road.
The pool's opening is timed for June 11 because the lifeguard will be in school until Friday June 10.
The facility will remain open for recreational swimming Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. through Sunday, August 14.
Hours may be adjusted to accommodate for attendance.
The pool is closing unusually early this year during the week because the start of school is Tuesday, Aug. 16. The pool will be open on the weekends through Sunday, Aug. 28.
This summer season’s lifeguard is Kura Brice, who has grown up in and resides in Lake County.
Pool patrons 10 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible young adult 15 years of age or older.
Hardester’s Market in Middletown has once again generously agreed to donate free swim passes for children who are 12 years of age and under.
Passes may be obtained by simply dropping by the Middletown Hardester’s Store and picking a pass up prior to going to the pool.
Hardesters have donated $35,014.75 in free pool passes to Middletown children since 1988. Clymire again expressed his sincere appreciation to the Hardester’s for their continued, unselfish support to the community.
The pool fees are: Children under 12 years old, $1.25; 13 years and older, $2; season passes are available for individuals for $40; and families (immediate family members only) for $80.
