LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Air Quality Management District has issued an air quality alert due to continuing moderate to unhealthy air quality conditions in the county due to smoke from wildland fires.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Air Quality Management District said smoke and haze from the LNU Lightning Complex and the August Complex have led to conditions in the “unhealthy” range that are expected to continue through Tuesday.

Legislature passes Sen. Dodd’s ‘hi-lo’ evacuation warning bill

With wildfires raging across the state, the Legislature late Sunday approved a bill from Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, that would aid in evacuations, authorizing municipalities to use European-style “hi-lo” sirens in emergency vehicles.
