Hosch: Where do I complain about cable fee?

Details
Written by: Annemarie Hosch

All right, who do I complain to regarding the pass-through fee to support TV8?

This is ridiculous. I already pay a lot per month for my cable bundling and I cannot afford to pay any more.

And since when does the Board of Supervisors have the right to enact taxation without representation?

This is the first I have heard of this and I am sure I am not alone.

Why not have Channel 8 be a fee for service instead of making people pay who never watch it?

And what of all those seniors who have to choose between paying bills and eating … I think they will “notice.”

I am tired of special interests making me pay for services I will never use and which are not my responsibility to pay.

Written by: Michael Horner
Published: 27 March 2011
Due to the loss of subsidiary funding, the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce will not be hosting the Fourth of July fireworks show this year.

The board of directors wants to keep within the vision of the chamber to promote businesses.

At this time it is our hope that another organization or group of businesses will take on the responsibility to continue the tradition of producing the city of Clearlake's Fourth of July fireworks show.

Thank you for your support

Michael Horner is president of the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
