LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – In-service military personnel and their families can enjoy a free vacation on the shores of Clear Lake thanks to Tents For Troops, Clear Lake Campground and Keystone’s Springdale travel trailers.
On Thursday, July 5, Redwood Empire RVs in Ukiah delivered a brand new Springdale travel trailer to the family-owned resort in support of this program while Operation Tango Mike’s Ginny Craven, Staff Sgt. Cameron Bornowski, US Army and Staff Sgt. Joshua McCorkle, USMC observed as the brand new RV was settled in its lakeside setting.
Tents for Troops gives in-service military personnel a free getaway as a thank you to their service to their country.
Clear Lake Campground petitioned to be part of this program which set the ball in motion for Keystone RV to contact Redwood Empire RVs in Ukiah to deliver a 2019 Springdale trailer to facilitate this deserved getaway for our in-service military.
Clear Lake Campground is located on the shores of Clear Lake, the oldest lake in the US and one that offers all sorts of year-round recreation including boating, fishing, hiking, world-class award-winning wines and more.
There are several military bases within a few hours’ drive of Clear Lake and many military personnel hail from the area so it’s a great way to enjoy a vacation close to home.
“We were really honored when Keystone selected us to prepare and deliver the trailer,” said Perry Bates, owner of Redwood Empire RVs. “This is a way to recognize the hard work of our military personnel and give them a little R&R in a beautiful setting.” Redwood Empire RVs serves Northern California with a variety of Keystone-branded RVs as well as Forest River’s Flagstaff, Cedar Creek and others. Many RVers have repeatedly returned to the dealership with their families to extend their RV experience to multiple generations.
Operation Tango Mike, an all volunteer nonprofit, ships monthly care packages to deployed military personnel. The organization’s founder, Ginny Craven, said, “We are really excited to share this availability with the men and women serving our country. It’s a great opportunity for affordable family fun.”

The 141,000-square-foot warehouse is located at 1275 Airport Park Blvd., at the southwest corner of Highway 101 and Talmage Road.
Previously, residents of the area had to drive approximately 61 miles southeast to Santa Rosa or 68 miles southeast to Rohnert Park to shop at Costco.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Costco’s low warehouse prices to the residents of Ukiah,” said Warehouse Manager Michael Wiederholt. “They have been asking us to open here for a long time, and we already have made an impact on the local job market. We look forward to contributing to the community in many ways.”
In the Costco tradition, the Ukiah warehouse will offer quality, brand-name and private-label merchandise at incredible values. Costco helps businesses save money on supplies and on items for resale, and provides a wide range of products and services for personal use as well.
This new Costco location will feature a variety of convenient specialty departments, including a gas station, fresh bakery, fresh meat, fresh produce, fresh deli with rotisserie chicken, optical department with independent doctor of optometry, pharmacy, tire center, hearing aid center, food court, and beer, liquor and fine wine. Members also can save on Costco services such as travel and auto buying.
This 127th Costco warehouse in California will be the 523rd in the U.S., and 753rd worldwide. Costco has 92 million cardholders throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, Wales, Spain, France, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Australia and Iceland.
