Furry Tails has new store location

KELSEYVILLE – Furry Tails Pet Boutique has a new location.


The store has moved to 8040 Highway 29 near the intersection of Soda Bay Road and Kit's Corner.


Stop by and see their new bigger store.


Store hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Ribbon cutting planned for Rosarita's on Tuesday

LAKEPORT – Join the Lake County Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting and open house at Rosarita's Restaurant on Tuesday, Oct. 6.


The open house will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the ribbon cutting at 6 p.m.


There will be drawings for dinners and a diamond watch.


Rosarita's is located at 971 11th St. in Lakeport, in the Safeway Shopping Center.

Economic and demographic profile workshops slated for November

LAKEPORT – The Center for Economic Development (CED), California State University, Chico will hold a series of economic and demographic workshops in the month of November for six North State counties.


All workshops will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the dates listed below:


  • Nov. 3, Colusa;

  • Nov. 4, Lakeport;

  • Nov. 10, Weaverville;

  • Nov. 17, Stockton;

  • Nov. 18, Yuba City.


Dr. David Gallo, resident economist of the Center for Economic Development, Chico State University, will present economic and demographic information including: current state, national and local conditions; housing market conditions; forecasts of economic recovery, long-term population and income growth; local economic base industries; economic growth potential through the implementation of broadband services; and his current study on renewable energy.


Dr. Gallo will answer questions specifically related to your county and encourages active participation. The Center for Economic Development and our Economic and Demographic Profiles will be the basis for these discussions as it relates to each county.


This information, according to Dan Ripke, Director of CED, “improves the ability of local businesses and community leaders to successfully plan for the future of Northern California.”


Pre-registration is required for each workshop, $65. Each participant will receive a county economic and demographic profile and continental breakfast.

Lake County Bar Association elects new officers

LAKE COUNTY – The Lake County Bar Association is pleased to announce its new slate of officers for the 2009-10 term.


They include President Mary Heare Amodio, an estate planning attorney in sole practice in Lakeport; Vice President E. Gregory Schrader, a civil litigator in sole practice in the Riviera; and Secretary Rebekah Turney, an associate in the firm of Katzoff & Riggs in the Riviera.


The Lake County Bar Association (LCBA) is an informal association of attorneys who live or work in Lake County.
