Local author publishes third book on relationship between Western, Islamic worlds

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Lakeport author Peter MacRae, M.A. recently published his third book, “Do The Muslims Have An Argument?”

The book is an unbiased historical account of how the Western world and the Islamic world have treated each other from before the Crusades to the present. It also describes the current situation.

MacRae points out that people see things on the Internet, and if the story fits their preconceived beliefs, it must be true. Most often the information is either not true or only half facts. For most of the press, the information very often is reported from only one point of view.

He hopes the reader will temporarily put aside their beliefs, and after reading “Do The Muslims Have An Argument?” will put on their critical thinking hat. Their views may change or their perspective may broaden.

“Do the Muslims have a valid argument for today’s troubles and violence in the Muslim world? Do Muslim ‘extremists’ have a valid argument for their acts of violence against the West and against fellow Muslims? Is the West blameless, or is the West responsible in whole or in part? Or, do all parties share in the responsibility,” MacRae said.

“Do The Muslims Have An Argument?” is available on Amazon and Kindle. It is also available at Watershed Books in Lakeport and the Lake County Arts Council’s Gallery on Main Street in Lakeport.

MacRae reports that he can often be found weekday mornings at Angelina’s Bakery on Main Street in Lakeport. He always has copies of his books.

MacRae is a frequent speaker before groups on the conflicts in today’s world. He can be reached at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
