Rain forecast for Wednesday; weather to clear into next week

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Forecasters are predicting rain on Wednesday to be followed by several days of clear weather.

The National Weather Service said a weather system was set to move into Northern California late Tuesday night, bringing with it showers and isolated thunderstorms.

The forecast for Lake County called for a 20-percent chance of rain overnight – less than a tenth of an inch was expected – accompanied by light winds and gusts of up to 21 miles per hour.

On Wednesday, forecasters anticipate a 50-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with another tenth of an inch of rain predicted plus more gusty winds.

In most parts of the county – with the exception of the Lakeport area – the forecast calls for a 20-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night.

From Thursday onward, conditions are forecast to be clear and sunny, with daytime highs in the low 80s and nighttime lows in the low 50s.
