Fires in Lake, Mendocino and Colusa counties nearing full containment

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Firefighters continued to make steady progress on fires around the region on Tuesday, including one nearing full containment in Lake County.

Clearlake Animal Control: ‘Peetie' and the gang

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Clearlake Animal Control is offering a varied group of dogs this week for adoption.

This week’s available dogs include mixes of Catahoula, Chihuahua, Great Dane, Great Pyrenees, Pomeranian and shepherd.

To meet the animals, call Clearlake Animal Control at 707-994-8201 and speak to Marcia at Extension 103 or Cheri at Extension 115, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or leave a message at any other time.

“Peetie” is a senior male Chihuahua and Pomeranian mix.

Shelter staff said Peetie is a very sweet senior citizen looking for a peaceful home and a warm lap. He likes to watch television.

“Duke” is a young Great Dane and shepherd mix.

Shelter staff said Duke is only 9 months old, is good with children and loves to play. He’s not recommended with other dogs and cats.

Shelter staff said he was found wandering the streets.

He is very sweet and friendly.
