Church begins food distribution, plans Ash Wednesday service

MIDDLETOWN – The Middletown Community United Methodist Church has a number of activities taking place on a weekly basis, as well as a special service planned for later this week.


The church has begun a food distribution program each Monday from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The effort is coordinated by Pastor Wanda Celli and her husband Ken Celli.


Wanda Celli also leads Wednesday Bible study, which is held at 3 p.m. each week in the church's social hall.


The start of Lent will be celebrated on Feb. 25 with a 5 p.m. Ash Wednesday service.


The first of March begins a free community dinner will be served at 11:30 a.m. after the 10 a.m. church service on the first Sunday of the month.
