KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Rev. Dave Thompson will be the guest speaker at Kelseyville United Methodist Church at the 9 a.m. Sunday service on Jan. 24.
Thompson is co-founder of World Uniting International, a nonprofit whose mission to promote peace by providing story-based programs that facilitate empathy in order to learn how to love others.
He also is the best-selling author of "Over Coffee" and the host of OverCoffee.TV, a weekly 30-minute Web TV series where he interviews people about their spiritual stories.
On Jan. 24, the third Sunday after Epiphany, the message is, "Calling to Listen." Thompson inspires audiences through the use of story and has been featured on Voice Of America, Fox News, The Huffington Post, CNN, The Christian Post and a number of other media.
As it is also Ecumenical Sunday, Kelseyville United Methodists will pray for Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, the United States and the Middle East and all people impacted by violence, floods, fire, health issues.
Prayers will be lifted for persons with addictions and anything that separates them from the goodness of God as well as prayers for people of different faiths.
They pray that the 20,000 to 33,000 Christian denominations can respect one another and celebrate the good works of all.
