Unitarians to discuss Heaven and Hell at Dec. 14 service

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The service at the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County on Sunday, Dec. 14,  is entitled, “Heaven and Hell – Part 1.”

The service begins at 11 a.m. at the church, located at 3810 Main St. in Kelseyville.

Guests are always welcome.

The Rev. Lucy Bunch will present the sermon, about which she says, “Who cares about Hell? The response to a recent book by a conservative Christian suggests that there are plenty of people who find Hell to be an important theological concept for our modern world. What could the concept of Hell possibly offer to Unitarian Universalists in the 21st century?”

Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion with Jewish-Christian roots.

It has no creed. It affirms the worth of human beings, advocates freedom of belief and the search for advancing truth, and offers a warm, open, supportive community for people who believe that ethical living is the supreme witness of religion.
