LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Right Rev. Barry L. Beisner, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California, will make his biannual official visitation to St. John's Episcopal Church in Lakeport on Sunday, Aug. 19.
At 10 a.m., Bishop Beisner will preach and celebrate Holy Eucharist as well as administer Confirmation, and reaffirm those who wish to renew their Baptismal Vows.
Also Fr. Leo M. Joseph O.S.F. will make a renewal of commitment to his vows as a Franciscan Friar for the past 38 years.
There is special organ music planned by the parish organist, Mel Taylor. He will be accompanied by Eleanor Cook on the violin for Christe du Lamm Gottes by JS Bach at the Offertory, and Mr. Taylor will also play JS Bach's Prelude and Fuge in B-flat as the Postlude.
The bishop will meet and talk with parishioners and friends of St. John's at the festive buffet which will be served in Carey Hall after church services.
