Upper Lake Community UMC to host worship in the rose garden July 31

UPPER LAKE, Calif. – Does the smoky aroma of barbecue on the pit put a big smile on your face? Do you get excited at the thought of a plump juicy hot dog or hamburger on a bun?

This combined with salad, beans and drink, are all free at Upper Lake Community United Methodist Church's very first outdoor service/barbecue in the church rose garden.

The worship service/barbecue will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 31, in the church's beautiful outdoor rose garden to enhance the summer services and provide for a community-building social occasion as well.

Bring your appetite for a good dog and your love for giving God at which time they will serve the Lord.

If you need a bit of healing, have a hungry spirit or soul in need, you're welcome to join them. They promise to feed your body, mind and soul.

It will be a more informal, briefer service than those during the year and includes a brief homily rather than a full sermon.

Due to the more relaxing atmosphere of the outdoor service those planning to attend are encourage to come in casual attire. Child care is provided for children 5 years old and younger.

The regular Sunday worship service is at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary and child care is provided for children 5 years old and younger.

Adult Bible study is held every Wednesday at 10 a.m., T.O.P.S. meets every Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The church's motto is, “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.” Everyone is welcome.

The Upper Lake UMC is located at 604 Clover Valley Road, corner of First Street and Clover Valley Road, in the city of Upper Lake.
