The service begins at 10 a.m. at the Kelseyville Senior Center, 5245 Third St.
Guests are always welcome. Children will have a special Easter egg hunt during the service.
Lewis will examine how tales of resurrection function in many different cultures and religions.
Lewis writes, “Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Zoroaster and other incarnations of God-in-Man are all, in my mind, ancient versions of superheroes. It can be reasonably said that the dying-rebirth story has its genesis in ancient mythology.”
He will explore how related stories in popular media are modern retellings of the resurrection story and why redemption and transformation are central themes in all of them.
Lewis is a musician and lay leader of the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County.
