Sabbath Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 10:45 a.m., at the Lakeport Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, at the corner of Park Ave and Hill Road.
Brehms' first sermon will be about “Lifting Up Jesus” as the churches celebrate his call to Lakeport.
He will be joined by his wife of 32 years, Karren, for a potluck “meet and greet” after the services in the Fellowship Hall.
Brehms is a fifth generation Adventist and a product of Adventist education attending Monterey Bay Academy in Watsonville and Pacific Union College in Angwin, ultimately graduating from Southwestern Adventist University, Keene, Texas in 1997.
He majored in religion with emphasis in teaching while holding a second major in music with emphasis in brass. He also is a baritone soloist and is proficient on the keyboard.
Pastor Brehms began his pastoral ministry at the St. Mathew’s Seventh-day Adventist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He was then called to pastor the Ashland, M Morehead and West Liberty Churches in Eastern Kentucky, where he was ordained to the Seventh-day Adventist ministry in Portland, Tennessee in the summer of 1993.
Over the past 25 years, Pastor Randy Brehms has served on academy boards, school boards, and has served as president of local ministerial associations in Kentucky, Texas, Nebraska and California, and thus brings of wealth of experience to strengthen the church’s supported Westlake Seventh-day Adventist School.
He enjoys interacting with ministers of other faiths, and has always involved himself in local area activities.
He and his wife have five children and three grandchildren.
He is the current music director at the Redwood Camp meetings.
