The service of the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, at the Kelseyville Senior Center, 5245 Third St.
Guests are welcome to attend. A children’s religious education program takes place during the service.
The Rev. Dr. Charles Harlow, a retired minister from United Church of Christ, was a classmate of King at Crozier Theological Seminary in Chester, Penn.
Class sizes were small, and the students spent much time working and learning together during their three years of study.
In honor of the 82nd anniversary of Dr. King’s birth, Reverend Harlow will share his reflections on King as a man and a friend, with an emphasis on King’s dedication of his life to nonviolence.
Rev. Harlow and his wife retired to Lake County recently.
