Ministerial association announces 2011 board of directors

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake Ministerial Association is pleased to announce the election of its new board of directors for 2011.


Rev. Dr. Steve Nesheim is president, Pastor Mike Suski is treasurer and Rev. Shannon Kimbell-Auth is secretary.


The Lake Ministerial Association (LMA) is a gathering of clergy from the Lakeport/Kelseyville area.


They meet together once a month to discuss community needs, Christian unity and how local churches can better work together to serve our community.


Beginning Jan. 5 the group will meet on the first Wednesday of each month at Woody’s Café located in Kelseyville Lumber at 10:30 a.m. Pastors serving any local church are welcome.


Rev. Dr. Steve Nesheim has served as pastor of the Kelseyville Church since 1999. He is ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He has a bachelor of arts degree from Bethany University, a master's degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, a master's of divinity from San Francisco Seminary and a doctorate of ministry from United Seminary.


Prior to coming to Kelseyville Nesheim served churches in Skagway, Alaska and Washtucna, Wash. He also presently serves as a chaplain for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and is on the Board of Innisfree Now, a transformational homeless assistance project.


Pastor Mike Suski is the senior pastor of Lakeport Christian Center. He is ordained in the Assemblies of God. He studied at Warsaw Theological Seminary in Warsaw, Poland. Suski completed his bachelor's degree at Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels, Belgium. He continued on and received his master's degree at Wesleyan Evangelical Seminary (George Fox University) in Portland, Ore.


He has pastored in New Britain, CT; Philadelphia, PA; and Yreka, CA. His portfolio includes ministry to multicultural and minority groups. He also presently serves as a chaplain for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and on the Board of the Free Kitchen in Lakeport.


Pastor Shannon Kimbell-Auth is the minister of United Christian Parish (UCP) in Lakeport. UCP is a Presbyterian, United Methodist and Disciple of Christ congregation. She has also served churches in Coggon, IA Charlottesville, VA and Berkeley, CA.


She is a chaplain for the Lake County Sheriff's Office, a trainer for Enhancing Collaboration: Faith 2 End Domestic Violence and serves on the Board of Innisfree Now.


The new board invites all clergy form the Lakeport and Kelseyville area to join them on Jan. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Woody’s for the first meeting of 2011.
