Father Leo M. Joseph O.S.F. from St. John’s Episcopal Church and Father Ron Serban from St. Mary’s will offer the blessing.
Saint Francis is one of the most popular of all saints. He is famous for his love for all of creation. He is often depicted surrounded by all types of animals, preaching to all who would hear. It is said he often blessed the animals and a tradition developed around the world to continue that blessing once a year on or near his feast day.
All animals and owners are invited, including fish and reptiles. Kindly bring leashes, muzzles or cages for any overly enthusiastic pets, since many animals are both predator and prey to other animals.
If you have a pet or animal that does not get along well with others, Father Ron or Father Leo will be happy come to your vehicle for the blessing. The blessing is open to the public and all are welcome.
