LAKEPORT – St. John’s Episcopal Church prepares for the Christian season of Lent with a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper on Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the church parish hall at 1190 N. Forbes, Lakeport.

Bill Eason of Cobb will provide guitar music for the event. Monetary contributions for Haiti’s recovery will be accepted.

Ash Wednesday will be observed with the Imposition of Ashes during Mass on Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m.

On the subsequent Wednesday evenings during Lent, St. John's will have a simple celebration of Mass followed by a Lenten soup supper and Fr. Leo M. Joseph O.S.F. will lead a discussion of “The Return of the Prodigal Son – A Story of Homecoming” by Henri J.M. Nouwen.

People of all faiths are welcome at St. John’s.
