COBB, Calif. – Join guide Darlene Hecomovich for a refreshing morning hike on Boggs Mountain this Wednesday, June 26.
The three-mile, casual-paced hike will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on various Boggs trails.
Bring water, a snack and wear sturdy shoes.
Meet in the parking lot of Boggs Mountain Demonstration Forest, which is located about one mile north of Cobb Village on Highway 175. Turn right at the large blue State Forest sign.

HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE, Calif. – The HVL Men’s Niners Golf Club held a stroke play tournament on Thursday, June 20.
The results were:
- First flight: Stan Kalata was first with net 29, Jim Wilson was second with 30, and Olie Smith, Dave Mann, and Bob Brossier tied for third with 31.
- Second flight: Don Dornbush, Jim Hodges and Doug Healy tied for the top spot at 31.
- Third flight: Ed Carver took first with 29, and Mike Riley and Paul Peterson tied for second with 30.
Closest to the par 3 pins were Bruce Brashares and Cliff Hughes. Tom Gibbs scored the only chip-in.
Fifty men participated in the event.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Clear Lake Scullers will offer an adult rowing camp from Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28.
The camp will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., with an additional day of rowing beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the group's boat yard at Main and Seventh Street on the old Natural High School campus in Lakeport. Look for the boats down by the lake.
Clear Lake Scullers is a community-based rowing club offering instruction and access to rowing, paddling, canoeing, kayaking and sailing equipment.
Membership is open to the public with year round programs for adults and summer programs for youth.
The goal of Clear Lake Scullers is to provide broad access to beautiful Clear Lake by exposing people to a wide variety of aquatic sports with emphasis on safety, competence and recreation, as well as teaching the skills necessary for athletes to train and race at the collegiate, masters or national level.
Adult membership is $100 for the summer, $200 for the full year, and includes sweep rowing camp and additional instruction in sculling and the use of a large array of club equipment, including rowing shells, surf skis, paddle boards, wind surfers and canoes.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Clear Lake Scullers rowing club will host a youth and high school rowing, paddling and water safety camp Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28.
The camp will take place 10 a.m. to noon daily at the Clear Lake Scullers boat yard, located at the old Natural High School campus in the 800 block of Main Street in Lakeport.
The cost for the week-long class is $80.
No experience is necessary.
Clear Lake Scullers offers classes and camps for adults and students for rowing, paddling and water safety in the summer.
