HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE, Calif. – Fifty-nine players of the Hidden Valley Lake Men's Niners Golf Club participated in a team Pinehurst tournament at Hidden Valley Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 5.
The results are as follows.
- A flight: First place went to Cliff Hughes/Bill Surber with a net 30; tied for second place were Bruce Hamilton/Bill Kyle, Bill Brewster/Randy Brown and Arch Madsen/Stan Kalata with a net 31. Third place went to Woody Frink/Scott Mcallister.
- B flight results: First place went to Al Burrows/Phil Tyler with the lowest score of the day, net 27. Second place was Jim Hodges/Jay Hodges net 30,and third place went to Ron Clark/Brian Panizzera with a net of 31.
Closest to pins went to Cliff Hughes and Arch Madsen.
Jerry Tamura and Doug Healy had chip-ins.

UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The Upper Lake High School junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams will hold a co-ed volleyball competition and fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 15.
The competition will take place at Upper Lake High School on Clover Valley Road beginning at 8 a.m.
The cost will be $125 per team, with all proceeds benefiting the teams.
They ask that all teams apply and pay their fees by Wednesday, Sept. 11, so they can set the brackets for the games.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Walks at Rodman Preserve will begin for the fall season on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The start time of the Saturday morning walks at the Rodman Preserve near Upper Lake will be 9 a.m.
The walk start time is switching to the winter schedule, which lasts through May.
The Rodman Preserve is owned and operated by the Lake County Land Trust, a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of open space and natural habitats in Lake County.

The Rodman Preserve is located at 6350 Westlake Road, Upper Lake.
Take the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff off of Highway 29, between Lakeport and Upper Lake. Turn east onto the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff, then left on to Westlake Road. The preserve entry is to the immediate right after turning on to Westlake Road.
The visitor center at the preserve is the starting point for the walks.
Please remember the Rodman Preserve is not the same as the County’s Rodman Slough Park which is near the bridge on the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff.

LOWER LAKE, Calif. – Lower Lake High School will host a tailgate party on Friday, Sept. 6.
It will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the auto shop before the first home game against Marshall.
All community members, students, parents, and staff are welcomed to join this event.
The tailgate party is put on by Link Crew and is a great opportunity for the school and community to come together to have fun, listen to music, play games, face paint, eat good food and get pumped up for a good game of football.
