Lakeport Police logs: Tuesday, Jan. 11

3:49 a.m. – Pedestrian check. Officer Jarvis Leishman initiated activity at Armstrong and S. Main streets. Warning given.

 

8:15 a.m. – Suspicious person. Officer Norm Taylor responded to Country Air Properties, S. Main Street. There is a subject in the lobby who is not making sense and was sleeping in front of the building this morning. General services rendered.

 

9:53 a.m. – Be on the lookout. Officer Norm Taylor responded to report from California Highway Patrol of reckless driver eastbound on 11th Street from State Highway 29. General services rendered.

 

11:00 a.m. – Theft up to $400. The caller’s purse was stolen out of her unlocked car at Safeway, 11th Street. Report taken.

 

12:22 p.m. – Traffic accident. Officer Norm Taylor responded to Kmart, S. Main Street. General services rendered.

 

1:06 p.m. – Shoplifter. Officer Norm Taylor responded to report of a shoplifter in her 60s, in custody in the office. Arrest made.

 

1:13 p.m. – LPD Animal Control issue. Officer Norm Taylor responded to report of ongoing problem with two black dogs running loose on N. Tunis and 9th streets. Today the dogs came after the caller and the owner restrained them. Lakeport PD Animal call.

 

1:23 p.m. – Welfare check. Officer Norm Taylor responded to an anonymous call requesting a welfare check on a residence on Parallel Drive. The caller says two girls, ages 2 and 5, live at the residence and the caller hears them screaming all the time. The caller doesn’t know if the children are left alone at the residence. Unfounded; the mother is home with the children and is trying to put them down for a nap.

 

2:05 p.m. – Traffic accident. Officer Norm Taylor responded to Blockbuster, Lakeport Boulevard. Blue Volkswagen Passat and a silver Ford Focus. General services rendered.

 

3:07 p.m. – LPD Animal Control issue. Officer Norm Taylor responded to report of a large German shepherd in the back of an old black pickup parked near Bruno’s, Lakeport Boulevard. The caller is concerned because it is raining and there is equipment in the truck that will harm the dog. Gone on arrival.

 

5:40 p.m. – Suspicious vehicle. Sgt. Jason Ferguson initiated activity at Sayre and Green streets. Parking citation issued.

 

8:23 p.m. – LPD Animal Control issue. An anonymous male reports a small dog has been locked in a late model Chevy Sedan on Lily Cove Avenue since 4 p.m. today. Gone on arrival.
