CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Adventist Health Clear Lake has welcomed Ian E. Solomon, DO, to its provider team at the Adventist Health Clear Lake Medical Office – Clearlake.

Dr. Solomon is a board certified family medicine physician and will provide leadership for the clinic as medical director.

“I’m looking forward to partnering with my fellow providers, Adventist Health staff, my patients and community leaders to create a healthier Lake County for all,” Solomon said. “The good people, good values, kindness and local beauty I’ve experienced here made this an ideal place to practice and put down roots.”

Solomon was born and raised in New York and he trained as a resident in culturally diverse clinics in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Fla., and received a bachelor’s in biochemistry from Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y.

He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

“We are glad to have a passionate, skilled physician on our medical staff and in this important leadership position,” said Brent Dupper, executive director of physician and outpatient services. “Dr. Solomon’s desire to make a real difference in Lake County and his interest in community connections make him an excellent addition to our growing provider team.”

Solomon was drawn to medicine because of an interest in science, but has since developed a real passion for moving beyond checklists and diagnoses to create relationships with individual patients.

“I want my future patients to know that being a doctor, for me, is about much more than numbers,” Solomon said. “It’s about getting to know each patient and truly understanding their needs so we can get to the root cause of their health issues.”

Solomon is also interested in meeting community needs. He has a deep passion for community wellness and the ability to create a healthier world for all, not just patients he sees in his medical office.

“My passion is to make a difference for as many people as possible,” Solomon said. “I’m excited to get involved with Adventist Health Clear Lake’s community wellness programs and to help innovate how we deliver care to the lives we are privileged to touch in Lake County.”

Solomon will see patients at the Adventist Health Clear Lake Medical Office and also serve as the clinic’s medical director, providing direction and leadership for clinic programs and advanced practice providers such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Solomon is looking forward to exploring Northern California and enjoys travelling, baseball, research, and spending time with family and his dog.

Patients may schedule an appointment at the Adventist Health Medical Office – Clearlake by calling 707-995-4500.

The clinic is located at 15230 Lakeshore Drive in Clearlake and accepts Partnership HealthPlan of California, Medi-Cal, Medicare and most private insurances.
