LAKEPORT, Calif. – Sutter Lakeside Hospital is pleased to welcome a General Electric Model T2100 treadmill for cardiac stress testing to its family of imaging equipment.
The GE CASE, or Cardiac Assessment Systems for Exercise Testing, is the latest generation intelligent cardiac system.
The machine uses cutting edge algorithms, which enables techs and physicians to rapidly access a patient’s cardiac function.
Clinical excellence combined with the ability to download and store patient test results to a central database allows physicians to review, edit, and print data remotely for maximum efficiency. The smooth flow of information sharing will result in more time-efficient stress tests.
A stress test helps physicians identify abnormal heart rhythms or lack of blood flow to the heart. Information gathered from a stress test can help diagnose coronary heart disease, assess how well heart valves perform, evaluate how the heart reacts to exertion, and pinpoint cardiac irregularity.
During a stress test, the physician or tech monitors the patient’s breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure, which can help the physician identify if further cardiac testing is needed.
“We’re thrilled to upgrade our cardiac testing equipment,” said Siri Nelson, chief administrative officer, Sutter Lakeside Hospital. “The addition of this industry-leading equipment will improve stress testing for both our patients and our staff. Sutter Lakeside Hospital is proud to offer the best equipment to our patients.”
