UKIAH, Calif. – Brandon Parker has been appointed vice president of finance for Ukiah Valley Medical Center and Howard Memorial Hospital (HMH), according to Buck McDonald, senior Vice president of finance and chief financial officer for the Northern California Network.
Parker has been chief financial officer at Ukiah Valley Medical Center (UVMC) since May of 2011. Prior to that Parker held the role of director of finance and controller at UVMC.
“We welcome Brandon to our team at Howard Memorial Hospital,” said Rick Bockmann, chief executive officer at Howard Memorial Hospital. “His collaborative management style and demonstrated success at financial management will be critical to our two Mendocino County hospitals as we continue to work in a challenging health care environment.”
Parker has enhanced financial education for directors at UVMC with the implementation of a financial counselor program.
Under his leadership, UVMC has improved revenue cycle indicators and awareness, utilization review and staffing protocols that provide a positive impact to the financial health of the organization.
Parker has directed UVMC to nine months of positive bottom line performance, the best since 2003.
“We look forward to Brandon’s leadership in this expanded role,” said McDonald. “We will work together to continue to be good stewards of our financial resources.”
Parker has worked in finance with Ukiah Valley Medical Center since 2009. Before arriving at UVMC, he worked at UVMC’s sister facility, Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
Parker is a CPA and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Parker received his bachelor’s in business administration and accounting from Pacific Union College in Angwin and his master’s in business administration from La Sierra University in Riverside.
Parker and his wife, Heidi, have two sons, Adam and Sam.
