Lake County Campus switches to online instruction for summer session

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake County Campus of Woodland Community College has determined that most face-to-face classes for the summer session will be taught remotely via distance education.

The following classes have changed to online learning:

– Biology 15: Bioscience.
– Culinary Arts 73: Sanitation, Safety and Storage (ServSafe certification).
– Ethnic Studies 1: Introduction to Chicano Studies.
– Learn 520: Academic Skills.
– Speech 1: Public Speaking.
– Theater Arts 34: Introduction to Film.
– Welding 57: Agricultural Welding (lecture only).

The lab portion of the Welding 57 class will be taught in person in the campus’s welding shop with appropriate personal protective equipment and sanitary precautions.

In addition, the campus offers Cooperative Work Experience classes for students who are interested in earning college credit for their summer jobs.

Summer classes begin on Monday, June 15, until Thursday, July 23. The welding class ends on Thursday, July 9.

There is still time to enroll. Interested students can sign up on the campus website at https://lcc.yccd.edu/admissions/apply-today/ or contact the office at 707-995-7900.

Summer hours for the Administration office will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday (closed on Fridays) starting June 1.

Social distancing and face coverings are required when on campus. The campus is located at 15880 Dam Road Extension in Clearlake. Everyone is welcome.
