New representative appointed to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors

SACRAMENTO – Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed Kevin J. Holl to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors.

“It is an honor to welcome Kevin Holl to the Board of Governors,” said California Community Colleges Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley. “He brings a substantial amount of experience in both law and education and will be a tremendous advocate for our 2.1 million students. We look forward to working with him as we continue our progress toward achieving the goals outlined in the Vision for Success.”

Holl, 61, of San Francisco was appointed Thursday.

He has been a partner at Gordon-Creed, Kelley, Holl & Sugerman, LLP since 1996. Holl is president of the Archbishop Riordan High School Alumni Board and is a member of the Archbishop Riordan High School Board of Trustees and Treasure Island/Yerba Buena Island Citizen Advisory Board.

He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem.

The California Community Colleges is the largest system of higher education in the nation, composed of 73 districts and 115 colleges serving 2.1 million students per year.
