CLEARLAKE, Calif. – A student walkout focusing on the prevention of gun violence will take place on Friday, April 20, at the Konocti Education Center.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., according to local organizer Trinity Thomas.

The walkout, which is part of a nationwide event, coincides with the 19th anniversary of the Columbine shooting in Colorado.

Some students at the Konocti Education Center will walk out in protest of gun violence and the lack of change from lawmakers across the nation.
