LAKEPORT, Calif. – Do you feel left behind by the computer revolution?
Is email the only way your grandkids communicate? Do you wish you could operate that new computer your kids bought you?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then your chance has come to learn the basics of a personal computer.
The Mendocino College Lake Center will offer a Beginning Computer Skills class, CSC 20, starting on March 5, and running through May 21.
It will be held on Thursdays from 9 to 11:50 a.m.
This class is intended for community members who don’t know where the “on” switch is.
Students will learn the names of the basic parts of the computer, Windows 7 basics, an introduction to word processing and Internet use, including email.
The instructor of the class is Elaine Bishop, a long-time familiar face to students at the Lake Center.
No textbook is required, but students should have a USB flash drive for storing files.
This is a 1.5 unit (college credit) class. Low income students may qualify for a fee waiver.
For more information, contact the Lake Center at 707-263-4944.
The Mendocino College Lake Center is located at 2565 Parallel Drive in Lakeport.
