CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Yuba College Clear Lake Campus is offering a new Human Services course.
The Human Services 27 course meets the requirements for CAADAC certification in Personal and Professional Growth, but is a great course for any professional working in human services, education or public serving institutions.
“The class will be fun and interactive, and good for the working professional as it is held in the evenings on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:20 p.m.,” said instructor Sissa Harris. “This is an excellent class for anyone facing issues of burnout and how to maintain wellness while working with others.”
“I’m glad we’re able to offer this class,” said counselor Pamela Bordisso. “Many of the situations our local educators, health care professionals and human service providers face are challenging. Having a class to learn coping and professional strategies will be a huge asset for the community.”
The course description reads, “The course will introduce students and professionals to attitudes, values, and methods that enhance communication skills in human relations, and will explore personal growth, values, and bias from both personal and professional perspectives with a focus on wellness and burn-out prevention.”
The course begins Jan. 15.
