KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The first meeting of the Lake County Rocket Club will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The meeting will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Taylor Observatory, 5725 Oak Hills Lane in Kelseyville.
This is the third year that this free club welcomes any fourth through eighth grader in Lake County. Parents also are encouraged to attend.
At the weekly meetings, club members learn about the physics and aerodynamics of flight. They build rockets from kits and then launch them.
Last year, some advanced students built rockets they designed themselves. In the spring the Rocket Club was invited to tour Lampson Field, a field trip all members enjoyed.
Interested parents or students wanting to join the club should call Bill Bordisso at 707-279-0923 for more information.
The Lake County Rocket Club is jointly sponsored by the Lake County Office of Education and the Children’s Museum of Art and Science.
