CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Lake County Office of Education is now offering a medical assistant training program in Clearlake.
Students will complete a 10-month program that includes externships with a variety of local physicians.
Upon completion of the program and the state exam, students will be licensed medical assistants in both front and back office procedures.
This program begins in August and will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturdays.
LCOE will continue to offer the certified nurse assistant training program with a new group starting in August.
This three-month program meets Monday and Wednesday evenings as well as Saturdays. Students will be eligible to take their state license exam at the completion of the course.
In addition to the medical classes, LCOE will continue to operate the 14 station computer lab in Clearlake.
For $25 per month, students have access to the lab to work at their own pace improving skills in a variety of computer programs as well as improving their skills in basic subjects such as math and reading.
Students of all skill levels are welcome and will be guided by an instructor while working through the self directed study.
The facility also is an approved test site for exams such as the GED, CBEST, CSET and more.
