LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Office of Education Career Technical Education Department announced that the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Program is returning.
Under the supervision of a health professional, usually a licensed nurse, a CNA provides basic nursing services to ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients/residents in a licensed long-term or intermediate health care facility.
Upon successful completion of the Certified Nurse Assistant Program course, graduates receive a certificate of completion and are eligible to take their test for state certification.
Students will complete classroom hours at the Clearlake Community School on Old Highway 53 in Clearlake and clinical hours will be performed at Meadowood Nursing Center also in Clearlake.
The course runs Mondays and Wednesdays, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sept. 23 through Dec. 19.
Students must be 18 years of age or older, but are not required to have a high school diploma or GED.
Space is limited to 15 students.
