UPPER LAKE, Calif. – Bernie Butcher, the owner of the Tallman House Hotel and the Blue Wing restaurant, along with Allie Schell, an Upper Lake high school graduate, visited and spoke with the senior math class at Upper Lake High School on Thursday, Oct. 11.

The talk was part of a Thursday speaker series in teacher Teresa Dunne’s class.

Butcher and Schell discussed various education and employment options available to seniors after they graduate high school.

Schell related her decision making process to the students regarding her choice to remain in Upper Lake, working for The Blue Wing, while attending Mendocino Junior College.

Butcher described all of the deductions taken from a typical paycheck and he gave the students an historical tour of the images present on U.S. one dollar bill.

If you would like to become involved in the Thursday speaker series, please contact Teresa Dunne at 707-275-2338, Extension 115.
