KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – This year’s recipients of the J. Fletcher and Anne A. Elliott Educational Scholarship awarded last week at Kelseyville High School are seniors Cory Johnson and James Green.
This year’s award is $10,000 to each recipient.
Johnson and Green both have outstanding academic and athletic high school careers.
Johnson is a valedictorian and Green ranked very high in his class. Both had exemplary athletic success through their high school years primarily in football but also track and field and basketball.
Johnson is going to Texas Tech University, where he will study mechanical engineering.
“This scholarship will free me up to not have to work while concentrating on keeping my GPA up,” he said.
Green is going to California Polytechnic State University to study computer engineering.
“This allows me to focus on school and not having to worrying so much about having to pay for it,” he said.
The Donor Advised Fund was originally established by the late Anne Elliott with the help of Rian Sommerfield at Nestegg Investment Consulting and is expected to fund future scholarships for decades to come in memory of her husband.
