On Feb. 9 student Charles Tracey had his portfolio celebration. On Feb. 16 Justin Bobbit and Dylan Ward also showed their portfolio's, and these students are now Carlé graduates.

On Feb. 9 a group known as Team DUI came to Carlé and shared their message. They shared their stories and tried to help educate students on the risks of drinking and driving. Carlé would like to thank this great group of people who care so much.

On Feb. 10 Carlé had its annual arm wrestling competition. Many entered the contest but only few could win.

The contest had two categories: male and female. The winners of each section got a medal made by Alan Siegel's media student Desiree Bauer.

The winners of the male category were Justin Lindsey in third place, Jonathan Warren in second, and Camari Onwuasoeze in first.

The female section winners were Rosie Wright-Trejo in second, and Tonya Smith in first.

At the recent teacher of the year awards ceremony held in Sacramento on Feb. 6 honoring this year's five newly awarded state teachers of the year Carlé's Siegel joined 2011 state teacher of the year Jennifer Kelley of Middletown at the ceremony.

Siegel had been for the fifth year in a row on the state teacher of the year selection committee.

In addition for the fifth year in a row Siegel joined 2001 state teacher of the year and yearbook award winner Jim Jordon to run all the audio and video and house lights for the ceremony. The speeches by this year's five were both powerful and inspiring.

On Feb. 18 Carlé students got the opportunity to come together and play paintball. This group is always looking for new members.

Depending on the schedule they meet at Four Star Auto in Lower Lake on Saturdays, and all of the equipment is provided.

For anybody who hasn't played, paintball is a fun way to spend a weekend. Carlé would once again like to thank Michael and Renee Skidmore for all they do to make our paintball dream come true.

Since the start of the grading period many students have joined the Carlé family. These students are Nicole Brink, Brandon Cabler, Chelsea Cherney, Paige Finley, Robert Hartzo, Madeline Hernandez, Laura Houchins, Yadira Jimenez, Chantilliy Pannell, Tony Robb, Tyler Scharnagle, Ashlie Smith, Chantel Strickler, Lance Thurston, Steven Tracy, Charles Trujillo, Jacob Grove and Joseph Sarro.
